On June 19–20, 2025, in Sofia, Bulgaria, GATE Institute hosted the fourth edition of the Spinoff Conference EUROPA, organized by Health and Life Sciences Cluster Bulgaria – BioCluster.bg. The forum brought together representatives of innovative companies, researchers, and entrepreneurs from across Europe, with a strong focus on transferring knowledge from academia into successful business models and high-tech startups.

Among this year’s participants was Mitotopia, which was honored with the “Best Academic Spinoff” award. This recognition reflects our efforts to build the first platform of its kind in Bulgaria dedicated to mitochondrial health—a concept that unites scientific research, innovation in dietary supplements, and a long-term vision for improving human health and performance.

The award is not only a recognition of what we have achieved so far, but also a motivation for the challenges ahead. An important next step for Mitotopia is participation in the HealthTech Investor Summit 2025, taking place on December 8–10, 2025, in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The event will bring together leading investors and innovators in health technologies, offering opportunities to build strategic partnerships and expand our international presence.
